Searching catalogues

  • SWIFT should be your first port of call. Casey-Cardinia Libraries may not have it, but someone else in SWIFT might.
  • Library Link Victoria - Change the Current Profile to Victorian Universities [shared] - this will search all the catalogues of Victoria's major universities
  • Trove - National Library search, including most universities and many public libraries - and includes digital resources

Borrowing from other libraries

  • Reciprocal borrowing - tertiary students can often use the libraries of other institutions through these arrangements, but they have to be setup by the individual student first.  (List of Libraries includes both university and TAFE)
  • Inter-library loan - from public libraries and the State Library of Victoria (SLV) - books from SLV can only be used in your local library, they can not be borrowed

Online resources

SLV logoStudents should have access to the appropriate electronic resources through their institutions' library, but if not - try...
