Book Groups (or Book Clubs) have been formed in the community by people who enjoy reading and discussing the same book. Book Group members may work together, live in the same area or be a group of friends who have known each other for years. Each month the members of the Group read a different book, trying new authors and styles of writing. Rather than going to the added expense of buying a new book each month, Book Groups like to borrow from their local library.
A large collection of book sets are available from the library; each set consisting of 10 copies of the same title plus a comprehensive folder of discussion notes. The titles in this collection have been chosen carefully. Most of the titles are very recent and about a third have Australian authors or settings. The Collection will grow to meet demand.
To access this collection, a Book Group or Book Club must first register with CCLC and pay an annual subscription of $100. A Registration form must be printed, filled out and handed in to any branch of CCLC.
